Launch of Chennai Galleria, February 4, 2002
The Gallery is perfectly suited for exhibiting a variety of products and services ranging from arts and artifacts to jewellery and furniture. Considering the growing need for corporate houses and budding entrepreneurs alike to showcase products in a professional way, the galleries will be used for commercial purpose as well, such as product launches, seminars and mini-conferences.
Chennai as well took off with a flying start as the gallery displayed modular furniture by Shankar Khandadi Creations, even before the formal launch on February 4, 2002. It was formally opened by Mrs, Perveez Aggarwal with the help of Ms. Vijaya Rajan, President - Crafts Council of India, who lighted the lamp. Some of the exhibitions held after the launch include Paramparik Karigar, manufacturers of handcrafted goods, Siplec, a textile export house, S&Y Mills, a Shirt manufacturing company, Seasons, dealers in Air-condition units and Mr. Alphonso Doss, a renowned artist. All of them received excellent response!
