COLOURSUTRA - Poonam and Rashmee- Summer Collection Launch, March 26-27, 2003
Poonam and Rashmee -designers from NIFT Mumbai came together to launch COLOURSUTRA- their prêt summer collection , a post Holi exhibition on 26th and 27th March 2003.Their collection was a blend of colors and styles that reflected the true Indian spirit. Their work used natural fabrics like cottons, linen and georgettes with concentration on mirror work, silk thread and cord embroidery. Their collection was creative yet practical, keeping in pace with contemporary style; a symphony of east mingling with west. Their use of sequins, beads, mokaish added to the glitz and glamour of their label.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Aarti Sudrendranath (Renowned Socialite), Sungita Khatiwadi (Owner of Melange- The Boutique), Sathya Saran (Editor- Femina), followed by 'Wine and cheese' prearranged for the guests. The visitors appreciated their collection , thus wishing the young designers success in their future endeavors too. DBS helped them receive a wide coverage in leading newspapers, and also covered them live on ZEE News and IN Mumbai. The exhibition went off quite well, with deserving compliments from Poonam and Rashmee for the extreme support extended by DBS. With this Poonam and Rashmee hope to expand their wings, with DBS backing them all over their journey.
