Instant Offices
(A ready-made office is the latest trend in the twin cities, courtesy Perveez Aggarwal)
AND now instant offices. With more and more people coming
to the city for business deals it wouldn’t be wrong
to start the concept of readymade offices. Fax, e-mail,
phones, printer – you name it and all that is required
to run an office is right here in Hyderabad.
The woman spearheading this concept is Perveez Aggarwal.
But Perveez is not just an office woman conducting meetings
and arranging parties. She is a saree specialist too
and has been a successful model of the sixties. “I
have worked with models like Gitanjali (Vinod Khanna’s
wife) and Zareen Khan. I have organized many fashion
shows myself,” says Perveez. Perveez is known
for her unique brand of embroidered sarees. A Parsi
married to a Hindu, she painstakingly replicates her
saree-designs from the old Parsi sarees.
“Today, an original old Parsi saree would cost
anywhere between Rs.1 and Rs. 5 lakh. I have restored
this ancient art. I do this work from home and have
three families working for me,” says Perveez,
who own a saree showroom My Beautiful Embroidery.
Perveez’s hobbies also include collecting Chinese
porcelain and traveling. She has an excellent collection
of Chinese porcelain. A graduate in Arts from Nagpur
University, she now heads DBS Group, a Rs. 100 crore
business house, pioneer in the office business center
industry in India.
“When I started DBS in 1980 in Mumbai, it was
the first of its kind there. Though this was not a new
concept in foreign countries, in India it was something
new.”
DBS group has approximately one lakh square feet area
of office space across seven centers all over India.
“DBS has helped more than 5000 multi-national
and Indian companies et up business by providing instant
offices. DBS not only provides instant offices in seven
cities in India, but also offer instant office space
to Indian exporters in over 440 centres all over the
world through its associate, Alliance Business Centres
Network,” she explains.
Perveez was the Joint Managing Director of Dinners
Club, India till the business was transferred to Citibank
in 1990. She presently works for the advancement of
women and is the founder chairperson of the Committee
for the Bombay Management Association and IMC Ladies
Wing. She is also associated with organizations like
‘Women From Maharashtra State Women’s Council’
and ‘Women Graduate Union’.
